BEAUTY AND LIFESTYLE BLOG

Hi and assalamualaikum everyone! So for this entry im going to do a review  about Lucas Papaw Ointment. New product that i just started using, so without getting any rambling so lets get into the topic!

Most of you guys always saw this thing at drugstore right? But dont really know the benefit, and how to use and whatever so on.

Ok so for your information, Lucas' Papaw Ointment is a healing product. It is to be used as an aid for healing the following skin conditions:rash, cuts and minor open wounds, insect bites, dry and chapped skin, nappy rash, minor burns and scalds, and sunburn. But actually its have a lot of uses so lets read below

    WHAT IT CLAIMS

Lucas Papaw Ointment is made in Australia from pure Australian papaws.
Papaw or Papaya we all know as a delicious fruit, but the beneficial qualities of Papaw greatly aid the skin.

    2.  Boils
    3.  Bruises
    4. Burns
    5. Carbuncles
    6.  Cuts
    7. Cysts
    8. Dry and Cracked skin on hands and feet
    9. Gravel rash
    10. Heat rash
    11.  Insect stings
    12. Mosquito bites
    13. Open wounds
    14. Pimples or scar
    15. Scalds Sunburn
    16. Swelling associated with injury
    17. Splinters and thorns
    18. Nappy Rash and Cracked Nipples

    MY EXPERIENCE

I have normal/dry lips. But in hot weather it gets quite dry, especially since I always in an airconditioned environment.I have tried a lot types of lip balm, you name it, petroleum jelly, loreal, lip ice , lip balms of various types but none has ever moisturized my lips properly or long enough.

Bought it as it was very cheap and wowww, it works perfectly to moisturize my lips. So honestly it is the best lip moisturizer I have ever tried. It not only moisturizes, but makes it look healthy and with no cracks, giving that natural moisturized look. If you wear it regularly I find that my lips look amazing. If I get lazy and stop applying it, my lips will become super dry, and I need to apply it many times continuously for the first fifteen minutes or so , rubbing it gently and it will peel off the cracked layer (as you rub it continuously) and a beautiful fresh surface of lips will come up!

This is a really great lip treatment at a very affordable price and it's become one of those good product for me.  As someone with very dry lips, I've found that most lip balms are really just a temporary, good at providing a bit of temporary lubrication. Lucas Papaw is different - with sustained and consistence use, it actually improves the condition of your lips. So not only is it moisturizing but it's also nourishing. Plus there's the fact that it's not a fussy product nor is it crazy expensive - not everything has to be luxe, you know? Especially not for lip balm.

Aesthetically, this product is also a win. It has a really beautiful finish to it. I'm not a lip gloss person but this is the perfect non gloss gloss. It makes your lips look full and slightly swollen(like kylie jenner) lol It's also a great pre-lipstick primer (just slick it on while you're doing your skincare routine and wow perfectly moisturize lips ten minutes later).

Weakness: this can potentially clog up the pores around the mouth because it is a very thick, emollient balm. Personally, it's not a problem for me and I don't find it unpleasant or overly greasy in texture. But if your skin is easily congested around that area, be mindful about not rubbing your hands around your mouth and spreading it all over your chin and upper lip area.

One last thing - be aware that the formula contains petroleum jelly as well as the fermented papaw fruit so it's not totally organic if that's something you really care about. Personally, I think it's worthwhile noting that petroleum jelly is unmatched as an occlusive (i.e it acts as a barrier, sealing in moisture and protecting your skin from the elements). If you have chapped lips, it's essential to use a balm which is occlusive and not just hydrating/emollient. Petroleum jelly works perfectly for that purpose so I have zero issues with its inclusion as an ingredient.

    HOW TO USE

Anyone who is only using Lucas’ Papaw Ointment for their dry lips is seriously missing out! It can do way more for you than just soothe chapped lips. Here are all the weird and wonderful ways you can use your little red tube.

    1. Eye shadow primer: The consistency of the ointment is quite thick, so you only need a small amount. Spread over your lid and allow to settle a bit. Then you can use a translucent powder over the top to allow your shadows to blend easier.
    2.  Face mask: For anyone who has dry skin, this will save your life (and bank account). You can apply the ointment to dry patches of your face after exfoliating to re-hydrate and rejuvenate. It’s also a cheaper alternative to expensive skin care and treatments.
    3. Sting soother: This ointment can be a life saver if you are prone to mosquito bites. It’s both soothing and hydrating, so you won’t have any dry patches from scratching!
    4. Nappy rash: Yes, even our little ones can benefit from Papaw. It is perfect for nappy rash as it’s both soothing and cooling.Highlighter: Yes, that’s right. This ointment is perfect for achieving that dewy, glowy natural skin look. All you need is a small amount tapped into your cheekbones, centre of the forehead, chin, nose and temples. You will be a glowing goddess in no time (we promise)! You can apply more to these areas to achieve the strobing effect as well.
    5. Dry ends fix: If the ends of your hair are dry and split, apply a small amount to temporarily seal and give a smooth finish.
    6. Sunburn: Papaw can help to heal sunburn skin and soothe the sting.
    7. Eczema: The ointment can work wonders for soothing the telltale eczema itch.
    8. Under eye rejuvenation: If you suffer from dry, tired looking under eyes then look no further. Apply the ointment after cleansing.
    9. Treat your feet: You’ve probably read about the benefits of applying moisturiser nightly to your feet to keep them baby soft. Good old Lucas works just as well! Pop on some cotton socks, clock up your beauty sleep and voila! Deliciously soft tootsies.
    10. Cuticle oil: Yup, just rub in some Papaw ointment onto your cuticles to keep them nourished and make them more manageable.. Rub it in after applying hand cream, or if you’re doing DIY, coat your cuticles in the stuff before pushing them back.
    11. Brow gel: Apply a bit of Lucas to a clean mascara wand and brush onto your brows to keep them groomed and in place. Easy!
    12. Unexpected makeup: You can apply to your eyelids for a sexy, glossy look. Or dab over a matte lipstick to oomph up the finish. You can even apply them to your lashes after curling them for a natural lift and instant volume.
    13. Barrier Cream: If you’ve run out of gloves, coat your hands in the stuff and apply your fake tan; the ointment will act like a barrier cream.
    14. Skin protection : If you dye your hair at home then you will know the pain of staining your skin all too well. Spread a light layer of Papaw ointment around your hairline. That way, if any hair dye gets onto your skin, it won’t stain and will easily rub off.

Hi and assalamualaikum everyone! So for this entry im going to do a review on one of my fav skincare product that i've been using since the ages, so without getting any rambling so lets get into the topic! I've been a long time supporter of Benzac AC 5% (this is my 4th tube i guess) I've been using it since last year, if im not mistaken. And thanks a lot to my doc who suggest me a lot of product to repair and rebuild my skin. If u guys know me, u will know how bad is my skin when i was 17, i have acne all over my face, like every inch of my face and this is so sad.

Benzac is a products to help treat acne. Its products are dermatologically-tested, safe and gentle to help us achieve clear, healthy and acne-free skin. Benzac AC is suitable to be used by sufferers with mild to moderate acne. It should be applied once or twice daily to the affected area. There are 3 strengths of Benzac AC Gel. 2.5%, 5% and 10%. The percentage refers to the amount of the active benzoyl peroxide in the gel.Use lower strengths for those who either fair or sensitive skinned. Higher concentrations can be used on chest, shoulders and back.

      INGREDIENT

The value of Comedogenic and Irritation from zero to five, the lower the better (the less chance it will happen).

*Safety index from 1~9, the lower number means this ingredient is low hazard.

      WHAT IT CLAIMS

Benzac AC Gel is an effective treatment for mild to moderate acne problems with the following key benefits:

      1. Kills P-acnes, an acne causing bacteria, within 48 hours.

      2. Unblocks pores with a mild peeling effect

      3. Absorbs excess oil without stripping skin of moisture

      4. Reduces risk of irritation: Unique Acrylates Copolymer (AC) Technology releases glycerin to keep skin hydrated and comfortable.

      MY EXPERIENCE

If you read my previous post about cetaphil, this is the best combination of product to treats my acne (both suggested by doc) Cetaphil as cleanser, Benzac as pimple cream to reduce my acne well, to reduce acne we cant wash our face like 5 times a day or else our face will getting over drying or dehydrated

During last year i have a lot of active acne, and always pop itself lols. I'm trying my best to not pop it again, then i start using benzac from doctor for the first time. And was surprised to find that they almost went away (dried off) overnight. The efficacy of 5% is definitely much better as compared to using 2.5%, whereby I'll probably need at least full day usage (2x) or 2 days for the breakouts to tone down.

However, after 3 days of usage, I realized that my forehead and cheeks (areas I apply the gel on) are getting drier and my cheeks even started to feel 'sandy' even though no visible peeling occurred. And of course, I need to always wear moisturzier for next day since im dry skin and this can make my skin more drier.

So efficacy vs drying effects, you got to make the choice here depending on your own facial condition, i choose to stay since i know how to handle and balance them.I feel that 5% is an excellent choice for combating pimples on other parts of my body (namely back and chest) with thicker skin.

However with 5%, the angry redness and bump seems to tone down with just 1 application overnight (but by right you shouldn't put too much gel).

So, to conclude, if you're a new user to Benzoyl Peroxide, or suffer from sensitive or extremely dehydrated skin, do start low (2.5%) and slowly work your way up to a 5%(im using rn) or even 10% should you feel that the efficacy is lacking.

So thats all. Actually in malaysia we have a lot of type and brand of pimple gel or solution such as dalacin-T, tidact, and tea tree oil but its depends on your type of skin. If youre oily; get gel (to avoid oil get into you pores and clog ur pores more and more)if youre dry skin/normal u shouldn't have no problem with any type.

      HOW TO USE

      1. Wash your face using your gentle cleanser
      2. Wear a toner (use cotton pad) to get rid all the dirts left and minimize your pores
      3. Wear moisturizer/aloe vera gel
      4. Dab Benzac AC at your acne spot and leave it dry overnight

      MY EXPERIENCE

My skin type is oily at T-zone and combination at U-zone, at first i bought this one since its stated for "All type skin" so i guess its going to work on my combination skin. Also i bought this one since this one cheaper than oily one(which is suitable for my skin problem and currently using now)

Ok let me share my experience on this product. My first week using this product i can feel that my face getting so freaking oily (i dah la oily and this product actually nak moisturizing my skin lagi mana tak double triple oily) and white-bumps things always appear on my skin this is so annoying esp when im wearing makeup ugh. My face getting worst than before, all my acne 'come&go' like every single day. (harini ada esok pecah lusa ada yg baru) After some research i made and read all the reviews on twitter i realize actually this one not a good product for me. White bumps keep appears bcs of my clog-pore, clog pore happens when you're oily and you're getting more oily so gets ready la nak breakout hihi. Im only using this for a few weeks then i changed to their oily one.

      MY EXPERIENCE

As you guys know my type of skin, i wont tell it again haha ok actually ive met a doctor when my face is breaking out while using cetaphil gentle. So then my doctor suggest me this one and tell me mo re about product and price and i was like " mahai gila weh cleanser je pun" but what can i do? Kata nak flawless kenalah melabur sikit, bukan utk muka org lain, muka sendiri gak smh. Then after using its for a weeks i can see a big different happens on my face!! No more oily face for sure so i dont have to bring my bloat paper , and yes its also reduce my acne scar, dries up my acne. Oh god im so in love!! I've been using this one about a year? something. Actually even its more pricey than gentle one, its also save your money since lasting to 3 months

      WHY DERMATOLOGIST RECOMMEND SOAP-FREE CLEANSING

The problem with soap-based cleansers is that they take away too much. As well as removing make-up, dirt and grime, they also remove the natural emollients and oils that give your skin a protective barrier and keep it soft and supple. If you have sensitive or problem skin, such as eczema, psoriasis, acne or rosacea, then you’ll know especially how irritating soap-based cleansers can be.

Formulated to gently cleanse all skin types without stripping them of their natural oils.
